Ardis Gertje, 79, of Southwick and Lewiston

      Ardis Gertje, a native of Southwick and a Lewiston homemaker, died of a heart attack Thursday at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. She was 79.

      She was born Jan. 17, 1920, to Chester and Estella Mae Triplett McIver in Southwick. She grew up there and graduated from Southwick High School. Most of her life was spent in Southwick.

      She married Roy E. Gertje Oct. 21, 1938, at Southwick. They farmed in Southwick until his death Feb. 10, 1978. In the early 1980s she moved to Kendrick and about a year later she moved to Lewiston.

      She enjoyed her flower garden.

      Survivors include a son, Dave Gertje of Rathdrum, Idaho; and six grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Gary Gertje, a sister, two brothers, a granddaughter and one great-grandson.

      A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens in Lewiston. The Rev. Curt Blackwill of the Orchards Church of the Nazarene will officiate.

      The family suggests memorials to the Juliaetta-Kendrick Ambulance Fund.

      Arrangements are under the direction of Malcom's Brower-Wann Memorial Chapel in Lewiston.
